TAT was developed by Tapas Fleming, a licensed acupuncturist who was
specializing the treatment of allergies. At the time, Tapas was using
acupuncture and Dr. Nambruripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET). She
had an insight to incorporate the acupressure point bladder 1 (near the tear
ducts) into her standard allergy treatment. What happened then was remarkable.
In using her standard techniques, Tapas had found that clients had to avoid the
allergic substance. After incorporating this acupressure point, Tapas found that
the clients no longer had to avoid the allergen. She reported that a child who
was so allergic to corn that he would break out in a rash if his parents drove
by a corn field was eating popcorn the next day without any negative effects.
This was a breakthrough in allergy treatment. But more was to come.
Tapas determined a connection between allergies and traumas. If a client is
eating a certain food, when a trauma or shock happens, they may develop an
allergy or a sensitivity to that food. The TAT procedure can tap into the
cellular memory of the client and heal the split between the client and the
trauma. TAT helps the client to re-unite with the parts of themselves that have
been locked away or frozen in time because of the trauma. When the trauma is
resolved, the allergy reaction is eliminated.
The TAT procedure consists of holding certain points on the face and head
while thinking about the trauma, blocking belief or allergic substance. While
holding this pose, you think about the problem until you feel a shift in the
energy. Shifts in energy are experienced by the clients as sighs, yawns or a
release of tension in the body. There are several steps to the process to
thoroughly eliminate the effects of the problem. Most often clients report
feeling relaxed and calm as they move through the process and may gain insights
into their issues. When finished, the clients can think about the trauma without
any emotional distress. If another aspect emerges, the client just does the TAT
process on that aspect until there is no upset left. Because the TAT process is
gentle, simple and rarely stirs up overwhelming emotions, clients can use TAT at
home to manage their anxiety or deal with flashbacks to their trauma. TAT give
clients back their power by offering them a simple tool to manage their stress
their own. TAT is an excellent tool for eliminating trauma, allergies and
blocking beliefs. Fraser Counselling will soon be offering training in TAT.
